Day 100

--Mama mia…day 100; I cannot believe it is already here.
Don’t panic, don’t panic, DON’T PANIC, LISA!

p.s. – some Italians actually say “mama mia.” It makes me quite happy.
I need to work on switching over to saying that instead, in order to save my mouth from becoming that of a sailor.

Cento giorni.

Day 97

--Happy Easter! On our way back to Firenze, we stopped in Monte Carlo, Monaco. I went through the gardens of the church, and then went to Easter Sunday mass in French. After mass, we caught the “train” tour of Monaco, in which we saw the Casino, the raceway, the palace, and a little more of Monte Carlo in a brief amount of time. We were only in Monaco for such a short amount of time, so I was not able to explore (especially since I spent most of my time there in church). It was still beautiful!

After the bus ride back to Florence, and a crumby Easter dinner, I was able to skype my entire family! It was the first all-family-skype in a long time. It was a three-way skype with my family and myself spread out in three different countries (U.S., Guatemala, and Italy)! It was great to see them all and to enjoy some laughs over the craziness that I have missed so much. I sweat half the conversation was Kristina and I cracking up about things such as Bernie (our dog) getting into the Easter candy. I love you all!

Day 96

--Off to Aix-en-Provence! Another little city in Southern France. It was cute and quaint, and my friends and I did a lot of wandering in this little place. We spent the late morning and early afternoon there. After returning back to Nice, we had a mellow evening of dinner, gelato, and some silliness with Nikki.

a random drawing that unintentionally became a little too symbolic of Easter…
and the morbidity of it was realized after I was done drawing
so please note: not intentionally sacreligious

Day 95

--We had a lovely walking tour this morning of Nice, France (pronounced “niece”) for 3 hours. During the tour, I heard some really cool anecdotes, saw some of the old town, saw Elton John’s house from a distance, and climbed up a mountain/hill for an incredible view of the city. Nice is such a beautiful and colorful place.

After a nice lunch, we relaxed on the rocky beach and caught some sun. I went to the Musee des Beau-Arts –Museum of Fine Arts- and to my surprise, I stumbled upon Rodin’s famous sculpture The Kiss.

A nice evening of some very-missed Indian food, a not-so-piano-y piano bar, and singing Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” at karaoke with the fabulous Ylisse and Nikki!

Day 94

--Making our way on a long bus ride to Southern France and Monaco! I am going on a school trip this weekend to Nice, Aix-en-Provence, and Monaco! Here is the sketch from today.
