--Drawing club on a Sunday afternoon.
The artists, Nikki, Karlie, Amanda, Sarah, and myself went to the Accademia. We wandered around the museum, and then found a spot in the museum to sketch. Most of us chose to sit in view of Michelangelo’s David. The David is incredible, as one could (or maybe couldn’t) imagine. He is also extremely large, which I forgot just how tall he was until I saw him at the end of that hallway in the Accademia museum. Even though there are many imitation statues of the David, none of them quite compare to the real deal. Random fact: the David was originally sculpted by Michelangelo to be put on top of the Duomo in Florence. What a relief that it is able to be seen at a more reasonable eye-level and only a 7 minute walk away!
Per usual, here are my sketches from the day.
