--Today everyone is moving out of the pensione, as the
program is officially over. Most people are leaving, some are staying in
Florence, and some are staying to travel around Europe. It was sad to say
goodbye to some, and expecially sad to say goodbye to the little nonna,
Marianella, of our pensione.
It was a nice afternoon of a picnic on the steps in Piazza
Santissima Annuziata with Nikki of the oh-so-fany bruschetta de peanut butter
and jelly. Oh peanut butter, you have been dearly missed.
Later in the day, Nikki and I met up with Meredith to go
have dinner. We went to an incredibly
delicious dinner near Santo Spirito. I had pappa al pomodoro and gnocchi
with cheese and truffle oil. One of the best meals I had had in Italy. And the
company was wonderful, too!
The three of us then went down to the grass that rests at the level of the Arno River. It was a wonderful evening of philosophical, analytical, and ponderous conversation while sipping from bottles of wine with the rush of the river’s dam next to us. One of my favorite nights in Firenze. =)
